Full Title: "Experimenstruation - Bound Suitcase"
November 11, 2006
Soto Gallery, Boston, MA
Elements: Artist, A Suitcase of old Love Letters, Ropes and Twine of Various Sizes and Colors, Thermos of Coffee, Cup and Saucer

The artist sitting in a upright wooden chair clutching an old suitcase begins to wind twine, string and rope around his hand, suitcase and arm. When his arm and the suitcase become completely consumed by the bindings he rests. Another artist performing in the same place comes over and begins to investigate. Unbidden she pulls out a pair of scissors and begins to meticulously cut at the wrappings, releasing him from the straps of rope and the burden of the suitcase. She proceeds to pile all the scraps of rope into the suitcase. The artist then opens his thermos and pours a cup of coffee.

Performed in concert with members of Encounterworks: Emily Eastridge, Gabin Chance, Maya Urbanowicz & Tara Hill.
Encounterworks has been hosting a series of highly freeform live art sessions called Experimenstruation, involving seasoned performance artists from the Boston area.
