The Cube - Structure
"The Cube" as it has become to be known is a construct of 12 Black Pipes measuring 8' (2.44m) in length and 2" (5.08cm)in diameter. Each pipe is marked with a 2" maroon stripe centered with a .5" yellow stripe. These stripes occur every foot along the length of the pipe.
The pipes are connected together using Burton 90 degree clamps. The intersecting points define an inner cubic dimension. The ends of the pipes subsequently define an outer perimeter. The adjustability of the clamping system allows for various configurations, thus creating different looks, sensibilities and staging opportunities.
I created the cube as a portable staging platform. This allows me to create a work that exists in its own environment and inject it into an existing environment. The work plays at the interaction between the two enviroments.
